Meet the Teacher

Picture

Michelangelo once said, "I'm still learning."  By this I can tell others that I have something in common with the great artist Michelangelo.  Though I have no works that grace the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, or slabs of marble chiseled under my hands into masterpieces that end up in the collection of the Louvre, I share the sentiment of the craftsman.  I have lived in Chattanooga my entire life, a product of Hamilton County schools, and now an educator in the same county.  Being a teacher is not merely a career or a choice, but a privilege.  Having the opportunity placed in my hands to form the minds and characters of the future is a privilege, indeed.  To see students' light bulbs go off and to see eager faces excited about learning are two of my favorite parts of the teaching profession.  Some of my hobbies include reading and writing fiction, art, traveling to new places, and spending time with family and friends.  Although I can claim no corner of the Sistine Chapel, I can utter the same words as Michelangelo in truth, because I am still learning... and hope to never stop.
