Some say, "William Shakespeare in elementary school? What?!" However, in Ms. Dawn's writing class, we say, "Yes!" and work to prove naysayers wrong.

Yahoo! We have the first comment! So glad it's you, Marietta! Well, to answer your question, it's just something fun someone did in Photoshop (a computer program for photos) or some other computer program. Of course, they didn't wear pink shades in Shakespeare's day - they wore what you like to call "sissy clothes," but hey those "sissy clothes" were fashionable back in the old days (1500s-1600s). Maybe I can post some more sketches of Shakespeare minus the glasses sometime.

Ms Dawn, I think Willam shakespeare is the best play writer back in the days. Did willam shakespeare have kids?

Thanks for the comment! William Shakespeare was pretty amazing! Wow, Demonte asked me the same question! =) Shakespeare did indeed have kids. He was the father of 3: Susanna (the oldest) and a pair of twins, Hamnet and Judith. His wife was Anne Hathaway. I'm glad you're in my class! See you tomorrow!

You sure are interested in William Shakespeare a lot! I think that's great! To answer your question, in those days traveling was hard work - they didn't have cars, trains, or airplanes... To travel they had to use their two feet, a horse, a boat or ship (if they were traveling across water), or some type of horse-pulled wagon or carriage. So, traveling far distances was a long tough process. Shakespeare was born in Stratford-Upon-Avon, England. He moved to London, England in 1576. The distance from Stratford-Upon-Avon to London is about 110 miles. Today, if you take a train from Shakespeare's hometown to London, it takes a little over 2 hours, but in Shakespeare's day you can be sure it took much longer!

P.P.S.: We know of 37 plays Shakespeare wrote. Shakespeare was an actor, too, but it is unknown how many plays he acted in.
